Ega O Azarya, Conductor
Ega O. Azarya’s interest in classical music
begun during his early piano lesson under the tutorial of Ms. Romey Mandala.
This has led him to his passion on classical choral music during his time as a
member of world renowned Parahyangan Catholic University Choir in Bandung. With
the choir, Ega took part in numbers of national and international concerts and
competitions. Under the direction of Paulus H. Yoedianto͵ Ivan Yohan͵ and Avip Priatna͵ he had the opportunity
to pursue more experience in choral singing through the participation in La
Fabbrica del Canto͵ Legnano͵Italy (2006 & 2011),
the 45th International Choir

Musical Eisteddfod, Llangollen, England (2010) and Florilège Vocal de Tours,
Tours, France (2011).
Ega’s most notable personal achievement was in
year 2007 when he was selected to sing with the Asian Youth Choir under the
direction of Chifuru Matsubara, a choir having the most talented singers from
all over Asia as the members. Most recently, he joined forces with ReChords
Vocal Ensemble which successfully won the 2nd Overall Prize in one of Asia’s most prestigious
choral competition, the Takarazuka International Chamber Chorus Contest in Japan.
As a classical vocalist, Ega learned vocal
technique from Ivan Yohan͵ Dody Soetanto͵ Dorcas Soenaryo͵ and currently he is pursuing the lesson from Joseph Kristanto
Pantioso. He is also taking choral and orchestral conducting lesson from Tommy
